Anjali's Experience

My favorite thing to do is write lyrics! I fell in love with the piano at age 7, and fell in love with poetry around the same time. So, I put the two together, and thus fell in love with songwriting. I’ve arranged covers, arranged my original songs, recorded a demo, performed in shows in and out of school. I have sung and played piano in my church youth ministry throughout middle school to now. I am 17, and I graduated high school at 16, to start college early at the University of North Texas to pursue my passion for music by working towards a Business degree to more deeply understand how to navigate the music industry. I got early admittance to Berklee College of Music for this fall. I have been doing songwriting challenges created by a professor at Berklee since I was 13. I love to dance, especially contemporary and hip hop, because I feel the music. The music is my heartbeat. I love speaking in accents and learning foreign languages (I currently know a lot of French, Arabic, and understand some Hindi and Malayalam (my mom’s mother tongue). I am currently working on production and songwriting with Berklee Online to more profoundly create my own songs and hopefully lend what I internalize from these courses to others’ music. I am music. You are music. She is the music. We are the music.
