About Cian Nacar

My name is Cian (pronounced see-Ann). I work at Create Music Group in Los Angeles administering digital rights, specifically publishing for music found on YouTube. I manage a DJ/Rapper collective in San Diego called "IZE" and partake in some A&R for my company as well. I am very passionate about helping artists do what they love and make a living off of it. I am also a Cancer survivor and an advocate for mental health in survivors and patients. When I was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2014, the power of positive mental health was everything when it came to healing. Music played a major part in this. I grew up in performing arts, so family members would constantly bring musical instruments and have jam sessions to the point where my hospital room was always filled with music and positivity. After achieving remission, I felt like nothing stood in the way of my dreams. However, being in the music technology industry, I have realized first hand the difficulties and disadvantages that can come with being a female. The lack of female representation in the music industry is something I wish to help change. The need for female mentorship and direction in music is something I not only seek, but also something I wish to aid.

Cian's Experience

I manage an artist group called “IZE” and was able to bring them on board to our company so we could manage their digital rights. I also sometimes play the role of A&R, having signed 7 parties of artists into our client base, providing them with marketing exposure such as social media promotion and playlist pitching. Often when artists do not have a marketing budget, it enables me to get more creative in marketing and different ways to get the artist exposure.
