Hayley' Experience

I am a current sophomore at Northwestern University studying Theatre and Computer Science with focuses in Stage Management and Theatrical Design. I have experience working in all forms of electrics, having worked as an engineer/electrician in all kinds of spaces and scales. I have worked with a wide variety of equipment from Walmart-bought practicals to extensive Dante networking. I also have led and worked on teams of assistants and load-in hands of all sizes; for example, this winter, I organized the load-in of a $6000 sound rental this winter while also helping to hang the 200+ fixture plot. Last summer, I worked as the Associate Lighting Designer on And Your Little Dog Too! for Apollinaire Theatre, where I was responsible for hanging my entire plot on Unistrut attached to lamp posts, and interfacing with the city’s maintenance staff to design and install safe systems; Each night I had to entirely load in and out (and troubleshoot) two boards, 8 traditional fixtures, and all cable. Through these experiences, I have learned to work and communicate as an electrician in all types of theatrical environments and with all types of team members, and furthered my appreciation for the group problem-solving nature of lighting. I will always jump in to help anyone and any team wherever I can, and will always go the extra mile to aid another! I love organization in every form and take great joy in being the most dependable and consistent team member I can be, especially when it comes to detail-oriented paperwork and programming. My experience includes work as a stage manager and as a sound and projections designer/engineer, which are skills I hope to bring with me to supplement my work as an Electrician.
