About Francesca Fuentes

Visionary artist Francesca Fuentes, also known by her childhood nickname Chess, channels her real-life experiences and relationships into organic pop-rock–inspired tracks—capturing the exhilarating, romantic, and soul-stirring facets of the human experience with sincerity and finesse. Born and raised by the Jersey Shore, she began playing guitar and writing at 12, and launched her musical journey at 18 after finding a like-minded creative community at Monmouth University. Her career gained early momentum when her debut music video, “Rock With Me,” won Best Film at the 2019 Lovesick Film Festival in Jersey City. A year later, her trajectory shifted dramatically. Following both a personal and professional split with her college sweetheart and music producer Max Wolf, she found herself with an unfinished debut album and what she has called her “dark night of the soul.” Inspired by powerhouse singer-songwriters like Taylor Swift and encouraged by mentor Mike Flannery, Francesca routed her struggles into cathartic projects—emerging with a refined, authentic pop sound on her 2025 EP Can’t Hide. The EP was accompanied by the self-directed music video “I Just Wanna Be Your Lover Again,” which received major attention—appearing on MTV Spankin’ New, discussed on the Asbury Park Vibes Podcast, and featured in The Mic Mag and The Jersey Sound. The video was also named a finalist at the Oniros Film Awards in New York City and earned her Breakout Artist of the Year at the 2025 Elephant Talk Independent Music Awards. Following the press surge, she performed at the iconic Asbury Park venue The Wonder Bar and toured throughout NJ, NY, PA, and MD. In March 2026, the video was awarded the Home Grown Music Video Award at the Garden State Film Festival, further solidifying the piece as a career moving release for Fuentes. As of November 2025, Fuentes has completed her full-length album, a four-year project that takes listeners on a chronological journey through the end of her collaboration with Wolf and features multiple self produced tracks. Set to release in Fall 2026, the album will feature 13 tracks, each accompanied by a lyric video created by Fuentes, along with a behind-the-scenes documentary and a companion short film made up of five music videos.

Francesca' Experience

As a singer/songwriter in 2026, I have focused on creating deep, story telling visuals that accompany my lyrically dense and relatable songs to further engage listeners all around the world. I have self-directed all of my music videos, taking on executive production responsibilities as well as styling and editing. I have built an audience of over 1K on YouTube by creating exciting content that fans want to be a part of. With over 15 years of songwriting experience, I have begun dipping my toes into track production, with my album featuring several self produced tracks. Following my 2025 music video “I Just Wanna Be Your Lover Again,” being placed on MTV Spankin’ New, I toured throughout NY, NJ, PA & MD. Alongside my experience as an independent artist, I have worked as a literary publicist and music marketing assistant, both of which have taught me valuable skills that I use towards every song release. In my role as a music marketing assistant at HIP Video Promo, I worked on high impact marketing campaigns for artists such as Milky Chance and Christopher Cross.
