About Monica Coronado Mateos

My name is Monica Coronado, and I am a singer, songwriter, teacher, and vocal coach. I was born in Barcelona and have been living in the Netherlands since 2003. Here, I found peace after a musical journey that began in my hometown of Barcelona and took me to places such as Bombay, New Orleans, New York, Havana, Krakow, Berlin, Mexico, Japan, and ultimately Arnhem. As a musician, I sing stories—I gather and experience what I play. My own compositions can be described as flowing, warm, rhythmic, and optimistic in tone. My songs wrap themes such as love, struggle, and even misunderstanding in a warm blanket. Musical styles like flamenco, jazz, world music, pop, and Latin are my main sources of inspiration.
