About Nadari Hockenhull

I’m a vocal artist and educator, living and breathing music in every form—from opera to jazz to gospel. Music has always been my therapy, my outlet, and my way of connecting with the world. Growing up in a home where music was everything, I learned early how it can heal, uplift, and bring people together. That foundation has fueled my drive to tell stories through song, whether I’m performing or teaching. In the game, I’ve hit plenty of stages, and with each performance, my love for the emotional power of music grows stronger. My latest project, *My Soul Sangs*, is all about mental health and the healing power of music. The heart of it is my song “Never Stop Sang’n”—an anthem about resilience, and how music has always been there to get us through the toughest times. “Never Stop Sang’n” is a nod to how spirituals kept us going during our darkest moments. It’s a reminder that when life’s heavy, music is the way we release, connect, and find joy, even in the struggle. I believe music is the ultimate therapy, and as an educator, I push my students to use their voices not just to perform, but to heal and express themselves. I want to build a space where aspiring vocalists can create, grow, and remember that their soul thrives through music.

Nadari's Experience

As a dedicated vocal artist and educator with a rich background in opera, jazz, and gospel, my journey through the world of music has always been intertwined with personal growth and healing. Growing up in a household where music was a vital form of expression, I learned early on the power of song to uplift and connect us. This foundation has fueled my passion for storytelling through music, shaping my career as both a performer and an educator. In the entertainment industry, I have been fortunate to showcase my talents on various stages, each performance deepening my appreciation for the emotional depth of music. My latest endeavor, “My Soul Sangs,” is a musical stage production that highlights the importance of mental health through the art of performance. Central to this production is my composition “Never Stop Sang’n,” which I wrote and produced to honor the profound connection between music and mental well-being. “Never Stop Sang’n” serves as an anthem celebrating resilience and the healing power of song. It pays homage to the historical significance of music during the days of adversity, where spirituals emerged as a source of strength and hope. In the face of challenges, singing becomes a vital outlet for expressing joy, pain, and the longing for stability, reminding us that our souls thrive when we connect through music. I firmly believe that music enriches our lives, fostering mental, emotional, and spiritual health. It acts as a bridge to joy, offering solace in times of struggle. As an educator, I strive to instill this understanding in my students, encouraging them to embrace their voices and use music as a tool for healing and self-expression. Through my work, I aim to create a supportive environment where aspiring vocalists can explore their creativity while recognizing the importance of mental health in their artistic journeys. My soul sings not only for the joy of performance but also as a testament to the enduring power of music to heal and uplift us all.
